DOCUMENTATION METHODOLOGY

How Records Are Verified Before Publication

This page documents the standard applied to every entry in the archive. Records are published only with an explicit verification label, an attributable source trail, and a review date. Nothing is published as a confirmed fact on the basis of repetition alone.

Verified

Reviewed against the archive’s evidence standard and corroborated by more than one independent, attributable source.

Reported Information

Attributed to credible reporting or organisational documentation, but not yet independently corroborated to the verified threshold.

Pending Verification

Received or identified information held under review. Published only where withholding it would misrepresent the record, and never presented as confirmed.

The Verification Process

01

Intake. A submission, report, or public account is logged with its origin, date received, and the identity of the reporting party where that can be safely recorded.

02

Source assessment. Each source is classified by type organisational documentation, published journalism, official statement, or direct account — and assessed for proximity to the event.

03

Cross-referencing. Names, dates, locations, and circumstances are compared across independent sources. Conflicts are recorded rather than resolved by preference.

04

Organisational review. Records are reviewed with reference to material from the Jammu Kashmir Human Rights Organization (JKHRO) and the Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (KJAAC) alongside independent sources.

05

Labelling and publication. The record is assigned Verified, Reported Information, or Pending Verification, and published with its source summary and review date.

06

Ongoing review. Records remain open to correction. New evidence can raise, lower, or withdraw a verification label, and every change is logged.

TRUST & VERIFICATION

This archive publishes source-attributed documentation concerning Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Records marked Verified have been reviewed against the standard set out on this page, including review with reference to material from the Jammu Kashmir Human Rights Organization (JKHRO) and the Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (KJAAC), and cross-referenced against available independent sources.

Publication exists to separate documented information from rumour, manipulation, and misrepresentation. Where evidence is incomplete, contested, or still under review, the record states so plainly. Nothing here is presented as confirmed because it is widely repeated.

Corrections, challenges, and additional evidence may be submitted at any time through the archive’s documented review process.

What this archive does

  • Records each entry with a source summary, a verification label, and a review date.

  • Separates confirmed detail from unconfirmed detail inside the same record.

  • Publishes corrections openly and keeps a visible revision trail.

  • Protects the dignity of the deceased and their families, and omits graphic material.

What this archive does not claim

  • It does not present allegations, attributions of blame, or legal conclusions as established fact.

  • It does not treat a total as final while records remain under review.

  • It does not publish personal detail beyond what documentation requires.

  • It does not remove an inconvenient record; it corrects the record and logs the change.
