CORRECTIONS & EVIDENCE

Corrections, Challenges & Evidence Submission

Every record in this archive is open to challenge. If information is incomplete, misattributed, or wrong, the archive would rather correct it in public than defend it. This page sets out how that works.

Request a correction

For a factual error in a published record: a name, date, location, relationship, or verification label that does not match the evidence.

Challenge a record

For a dispute over whether a record meets the verification threshold, or whether its sourcing supports the label applied to it.

Submit new evidence

For documentation, reporting, or accounts relating to an existing record, or to a case not yet held in the archive.

What a Submission Should Include

  • The record reference number, or the page address of the record concerned.

  • A clear statement of what is disputed or missing.

  • The supporting material, with its origin and date wherever possible.

  • Whether the submitting party consents to being named as a source.

Acknowledgement

Submissions are logged on receipt. Where contact details are supplied, receipt is acknowledged before review begins.

Review

The material is assessed against the published methodology. A submission may confirm, revise, downgrade, or withdraw an existing record.

Outcome

Where a record changes, the change is applied to the live record and noted in its revision history with the date of revision.

No guarantee

Submission does not guarantee publication. Material that cannot be attributed or corroborated is held, not published.

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT

Consider your own safety first. Do not send material that could place you or others at risk. This archive cannot promise anonymity, encrypted transport, or legal protection, and will not claim safeguards it does not have. Send only what you are willing to have held on record, and state clearly if any part must not be published.
